Food is better in the Mayan Riviera, more varieties, more Americanized, 1000 + resorts, from Cancun to the southern border of Mexico.

Re: food in Punta Cana vs Riviera Maya. 3 years ago. Save. Really depends on the resort-yep, you get what you pay for. For gourmet eating, you will have to go top resorts. In my experience, food has been slightly better in Mexico. However the beaches are better in PC unless you head to Playacar or Maroma in Riviera Maya.
